Childbirth Education Is Important And I’ll Tell You Why

Childbirth Education Is Important

October 13, 2020

Here’s the thing that you may or may not know, there are maternal health and childbirth discrepancies that currently exist in the US system (this is a fact). Team Parentpiphany believes that every family deserves the best resources for their family and that simply is not up for debate.

So I’ve decided to take things into my own hands and I’m leading the initiative to make childbirth education accessible to all families no matter their socio-economic status.

Childbirth classes can be one of the best investments for your growing family. And here’s why, by taking a comprehensive childbirth education class it can:

  • Reduce your risk of cesarean section surgery
  • Decrease chances of vaginal tearing
  • Reduce the pushing stage during labor and delivery
  • Reduce the risk of postpartum depression
  • Lead to fewer interventions
  • Help you learn how to reduce pain
  • Increase your knowledge on what is happening at every stage of labor
  • Helo you advocate for the best experience possible for yourself and your family
  • Strengthen bonding of your family, before and after birth
  • Reduce the risks of preterm labor and birth

Hello Pregnancy is our childbirth education course that is exclusively offered through our membership program. You can learn more about it here. We’ve made parental education programs accessible for all parents (new, expectant or seasoned) so we’ve developed a curriculum to accommodate diverse families and parenting styles. And you’ll have fun learning all the ins and outs of welcoming a baby.

Should You Take A Birthing Class?

Simply put, birthing classes can make birth easier, safer and more rewarding. You can learn skills to cope with the intensity of labor, how to make educated decisions and feel more confident in your own ability to birth. Beyond gaining confidence and knowledge, the American Academy of Obstetrics and Gynecology has reported that birthing people who took childbirth education courses were better prepared for labor and less likely to need interventions or have an unplanned cesarean section.

So when should you enroll?

Once the membership officially launches… anytime! When you enroll in a membership plan we’ve got you covered from pregnancy to early parenthood. Some parents may decide to join before they are even expecting. Since we cover wellness and nutrition you can use the information at any time. Additionally there’s flexibility in the ability to start at any time, which allows you to work with your schedule. Bonus: Your childbirth course may be covered by your insurance; learn more here.

Not only do I believe no parent should face the uncertainties of childbirth unprepared but it’s for that reason we offer a number of services to help you.

Along with our membership we have free tools and resources, employer services, and doula services to support you at every stage! So there you have it… our philosophy is simple, we support parents.  Join our Facebook group. Be prepared, supported and celebrated with Parentpiphany.
